DISCLAIMERS
-
Some circuits at our site are meant to give the customer an idea of the
type of thing that can be done with a product, but are not circuits that
have actually been constructed and tested. Usually, companies pay an engineering
fee for us to develop those ideas further, or to engineer a similar circuit
that is designed by an electrical engineer to meet their specific application
requirements.
-
For every circuit presented at this site, and for every circuit presented
at a site that we link to, variations in component tolerances and construction
methods may cause results obtained to differ from those stated. For this
reason the authors of the circuits, and McShane, Inc., assume no responsibility
for the suitability of this web site's contents for any application. Since
we have no control over the use to which the information at this site is
put, we assume no liability for any damages resulting from its use. In
no event shall McShane, Inc. or other authors of information at this site
be liable for any damages whatsoever (including without limitation, damage
for loss of business profits, business interruption, loss of business information,
or any other pecuniary loss) arising out of the use or inability to use
the products or information at this web site, even if McShane, Inc. or
other authors of information at this site have been advised of the possibility
of such damage.
-
It is, of course, your responsibility to determine if commercial use, sale
or manufacture of any device that incorporates information at this web
site infringe any patents, copyrights or other rights.
-
Peltier modules and resistive heaters and other devices used for thermal
control are subject to thermal runaway and unattended operation could result
in a fire or other temperature related damage.
-
The standard controllers are not built for operation in very cold or very
hot environments, although we can build such units for an NRE. Check the
features and specifications for acceptable ambient operating temperature,
or inquire.
-
If you are building something that requires UL approval, you will most
likely need to add one or more thermal fuses into the circut. We can also
provide a custom built controller that includes that type of circuitry.
-
We cannot guarantee suitability to purpose. The best we can do is provide
a controller that meets certain specifications for temperature range, proportional
bandwidth, power requirements, etc. It is up to the customer to determine
the value of buying and trying a given product for their application.
